Do you think its good if ur country wil be an additional state of America?

well, most of the peole here in the philippines was shocked and some feel so excited when they hear the news that theres a plan going for us to be an additional state of America... if that will happen and spread to your country (if not yet an Amrican state) and was gpoing to be true how would you react and are u ihn favor of this?

That rumor has been flying around for the longest time. There were speculations even before Marcos was booted out in 1986. History states that the Spaniards sold the Philippines to the Americans so I guess in a way the U.S. has a say in whatever Filipinos (our government) do. If the Philippines ever did become a U.S. state, there will be mixed reactions from the people. I don't want that to happen however, because if we become even more part of America, the terrorists who hate the U.S. will find us a primary target.

that's if we're still the Philippine Commonwealth... they've "granted" us independence in 1946, remember? so as an equally sovereign state, they no longer have any business meddling in Philippine affairs. or to put it more bluntly: they, in fact, don't have a say in whatever we do.
whether we become part of the US or not terrorism is here with us to stay...

I already live in the states so this would not apply to me but I think it would be nice to see the Philippines become a part of the United States. I have several friends that are Filipino and would be happy and welcome your country and my friends there here. Hope this plan does happen as I think it would be helpful to both your people and our country.

It's nice to know that there are a lot of Filipinos abroad who wish their country well. But, I think, it's time for us (Filipinos) to stop thinking of the US as a panacaea for all our economic woes and start working out efficient sustainable development plans that would realy transform us into a new economic cat (sounds more plausible... economic tiger would still be too far to reach) in southeast asia...

I am a Filipino and I love the Philippines. I don't like the Philippines to become one of the state of the United States of America. We can live on our own even if we are a member of the third world. Eventually, Philippines will become progressive.

this is the dumbest thing that i've ever heard... concession of the philippines -- act II (or III? whatever it is, it'll only be us this time). i'm not even aware that there's a "plan" going on to integrate the philippines as the nth state of the US! or maybe because i just missed that one on tv...
although our foreign policies in relation to the US are that of "mendicancy", they're still far from selling away our beloved motherland. the only way to make it more plausible is for eli pamatong and his likes to make thier way to malacañang...
