we found a little orange ball of fluff that was mewing and stumbling around blind. After looking in vain for his mother, we took him home and raised him 'by hand'. This required bottle feeding with special kitten formula (every 2 hours) and stimulating him to eliminate (urine). We really love the little guy, but although he seems to tolerate us (he is 9 months old now) he plays very rough. Quite an experience, but sure was a lot of luck

I hear ya Jackie, the small black & white kitten in my avatar is a bottle baby. He was found at a week old. He's now almost a year & a half, and so much fun. I do know we can't touch his tummy - I blame it on having to stimulate him as a kitten. To calm him down, as soon as he starts getting too rough, stop playing with him, even resort to a waterbottle to spray him. You need to get him to stop this now, because he could end up hurting you since he doesn't know better.

Awwwwwwww!! I remember having to bottle feed my cat when I first got her from the pound. They said she was 6 weeks old, but she had trouble eating her kibble and when we took her to the vet, he said she was only about 4 weeks old. She was so teeny and fit in the palm of your hand. You don't happen to have a picture of this kitten, do you? I'd love to see one. Not sure what to say about him playing rough. My sister's cat used to attack my feet any time I walked by him. He was a strange one. He's also an orange tabby!

aw that is sweet. He must be really adorable. Three of my four cats were strays. My son delivered the one who is not, Junior was not coming out and my had to pull him out, while we had the vet on the phone, telling him what to do and how to cut the sac immerse the kitten in water and towel dry him etc.

That is so wonderful. I had a neighbor once bring me a kitten that he found on the street the mom must of dropped it when carrying it across the street. Of course my neighbors all knew I was a sucker when it came to animals. We tried to feed it and kept it alive for a week but we lost it. I was heart broken even though the vet had told me it was only hours old and that our chances were rare. It is so nice to hear someone did it successfully. Good job!!
