Are stay at home moms a thing of the past?

I have been lucky enough to be a stay at home mom for the past 4 years, but money being tight and inflation going faster and higher, it has become very difficult to keep up. I look around and it seems everyone is going back to work for the same reason. What do you think?

For a different perspective. I'm a stay at home Dad. You're right about things getting tighter everyday. What with school levys, property taxes plus the cost of living it does make it tough. I say stick it out though. What you are doing for your kids by being there is worth much more than a few extra dollars could ever buy. I've found a few ways to supplement our income on the internet. Not much but it brings in enough for a night out or birthday presents and such. It certainly takes some constant adjustments and it ain't easy but to me it is well worth it to stay home and be here for the kids.

Thanks for your comment. Thanks for the logic. You're right that at the end of the day, it's more important to be here for the kids, but when those few extra dollars are non-existent, they tend to mean a whole lot. Funny how much more important they are when you don't have them than when you do. lol.... It is refreshing to hear from a dad who actually knows the plight. You are in inigma, sir and I admire that you care enough for your children to do what you are doing. Probably was not an easy decision. I am new, please check out my other chats. Thanks again. Bea
