i just wonder how does it feel to be in hospital bed counting days for release. being one from hospital industry, i am quite used to seeing others that way, but when it came to my father i was totally bowled. my father had to stay for some days in hospital with complaints of heart disease and hypertension. it was an awfully bad time for our family.
please share your experience, if atall you have any.
thank you and wish you good recovery.

I was in Hospital for 4 dayz last September. I was diagnosed there. i was suffering from regular backaches and some woman related problems. I stayed there all d time wishing that time should elope soon. My mom,dad , hubby n siblings were all d time wid me. My mom used to stay at night. Really that time was very hard for me. Doctot told me that I have to take medicines for six months, I m still on medicines waiting for me to get well soon .

i am sorry to hear that, but i am sure you gonna overcome it in no time. i know, how does it feel, especially for the family. i have had no situation to be in hospital as of now, but i have attended my parents. my mom was operated on brain tumour when i was a child and my father had angioplasty a few years back. our family virtually went through an awful time in those times.
i just wish you a good and quick recovery. i know you will soon, for you are so sweet a girl.

As a child I was often in the hospital for long stretches of time. If people had visited me often I wouldn't have minded so much I think, but my family wasn't very good about that. The first few times I remember being very very unhappy, and doing things like ripping out my IV and trying to escape.
However, one time there was a little boy who kept sneaking into my room to talk to me, and after that I realized that if he could make an effort to make me not be lonely, then I could do that for other kids too.
And I had some very nice staff taking care of me. One nurse used to bring me new books to read all the time, and I loved her so much. I didn't like kids books, which was all the hospital library had, so she would actually bring her own books for me or get some from the city library.
I still don't think it's wonderful being in the hospital for a long period of time, but there are things that make it worthwhile. And it sounds like at least your father had his family around him a lot.

there was once that i was admitted into the hospital for appendicitis in a different state. Therefore, my parents were not there to accompany me. It was a very scary experience as that was the first time i was admitted into the hospital and the first time being wheeled into the operation room. I used to be a clinic assistant for an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist in a hospital, but when you are the one going through all those, it's really frightening. The worst part was when i cannot eat anything, yet, my neighbor seems to have the best hospital food ever..let me tell you, hospital food was the best food ever back then :D

thank you for sharing eunice (after long, i know you have been very busy with new job). it's always a pleasure hearing from you.
i work in a hospital and see so many dreadful things happening all through the day, but trust me, when it comes to me- it's unbearable. it's indeed brave of you to go thru all those all alone in a different state. thanx to your neighbour and her BEST of FOODs.

I've had a few hospital stays myself actually...i had to stay in the hospital in Toronto for a week for surgery on my feet when I was 13...I was in for a week on two seperate occasions when I was preg wiht my youngest....and I've done shorter visits as well....and I stayed with my oldest when he ended up in for a week when he ws two or so....I sometimes hate hospitals but alot of it has to do with the type of room you have, the staff you have to deal with etc etc....and of course having someone to sneak in McDonalds for you is always good too LOL

i just wish, no one has to stay in that place, except for child delivery (most coveted). LOL
i have had only one occasion to stay in hospital, when my father was plastied on the arteries. i was not a patient but i felt i would have been better off if i had been. it's terrible seeing your loved ones like that. we can manage with our stress but not with the stress' of family.
thank you for sharing
