I've been getting phone calls the past week or so from two companies. One out of Clear Water Florida and one out of San Fransisco California. Both are wanting me to sign up for credit cards with them. They promise to help me restore my bad credit. All they need is my mother's maiden name, my social security number and my bank account information so they can deduct a small deposit for the card. I know it's a scam for these reasons. 1. My credit score is 706. Near perfect. 2. I've got 2 credit cards. Neither needed my bank account information. 3. Most credit cards, unless you have bad credit, do not require a deposit. If you have to put up a deposit, make sure the credit card company is legit and NEVER give out any information to ANY caller that calls you first. Always hang up the phone after getting the information from them as to what the company name is and either call 411 or look online for a proper phone number and you start the call.
