Of course, you will start with your family. Touch a little on the genealogy, maybe. Then your birth. Mark all the important events in your life. Successes, failures, dreams. Whatever counts in your life will have to be there. Good luck and may you make it.

Select a person you care about.
Read an article about your subject (if available).
Research your subject thoroughly.
Research the historical time period in which your subject lived and did her/his work.
Cross-reference materials.
Keep general reference books available
Be objective about your subject.
Be as accurate as possible.
Write in a clear and convincing way.
Tell a good story. Keep your readers interested.
