Today is the spring festival of China.It's the most important festival for Chinese people,just like the Christmas in the West.Today,all the family members will get together,they will have a great dinner,talk happily with each other.They will eat "jiaozi" and watch the CCTV spring festival gola in the evening.Do you want to know more about spring festival and Chinese culture,welcome to visit China.

I'd love to know more about what the festival celebrates and more about "jiaozi". Is the festival on the same day each year or to do with the coming of springtime or the position of the moon? I know with our Indian festivals several of them are dependant on when the full moon is or similar...

The spring festival falls on the first day of the 1st lunar month,often one month later than the Gregorian calendar.It originated in the Shang Dynasty(1600BC-1100BC)from the people's sacrifice to gods and ancestors at the end of an old year and the beginning of a new one.Strickly speaking,the spring festival starts every year in the early days of the 12th lunar month and will last till the mid 1st month of the next year.
well,jiaozi,Chinese dumplings stuffed with meats and vegetables.Since the shape of the dumplings resembles the gold ingot,eatting jiaozi symbolizes the calling of wealth of one's life.
