I'm a fairly new consultant with a home party business. What sort of things do you like and dislike when you go to a home party? One of my main goals is to keep the presentation to about 20 minutes. I'd like other ideas to give people what they want. Any suggestions?

I do not know what you are selling - so it makes it a little harder to give some specific ideas.
I did PartyLite home parties and it always seemed to help if you give away raffle tickets for short/quick party games, for bringing a guest, etc that you will draw for prizes (small gifts from what you are selling, or dollar store items if your products are too expensive). You can put pieces of papers in balloons with a prize listed or a % off, and when someone books a party for themselves with you, they can pop the balloon, etc.
If there is any way to make the presentation into a game, people have more fun and are more inclined to learn. For example a Bingo game where they fill in the answers to your questions on their blank board -- you call the numbers later for a prize; Or a scavenger hunt through the catalogs looking for #'s of specific things -- give raffle tickets for those that find the correct # - pull the raffles later for a prize, etc . . .
Hope that helps! Good luck with your new business!

I love home parties! The main thing I always hated was being pressured to have my own partied. Most of the time I could but there were times i couldn't and I always felt like I had to have one and that always irritated me.I hope this helps

I enjoy some parties but I don't like feeling pressured into having another party. The best party was where the consultant left some sheets around and said if anyone needed help to understand the benefits of having your own party to just ask her. And you could fill them in or bring them home to look at later. Also nice to win a little prize and makes you appreciate the product more.

I like good food at home parties. I think most home parties have good food and they are yummy to taste. I like long speaches. I have seen some people talking more than one hour. I think presentations or speaches should be made in a short way and in a beautiful way. I believe that minimum words and maximum ideas to be given to the people.
