How does your home smell?

Does your home smell good? I don't care for the odor of cleaning aids so I used to burn candles which were dangerous with kids and pets around. One day I found liquid potpourri and they are great, cheap no danger of fire, and you put them out of the way from pets and kids. I use them 24/7, floral in the bedroom, and cinnamon, apple cherry, pumpkin spice in the living room, there are many different scents. If the smell is too strong you can dilute with some water. Just pour it into a glass, cup or mug and sit it on an electric cup warmer. I get mine at "Big Lots" or "Walmart" for under $2.00 a bottle (much cheaper than candles) they can be found in the candles aisle. Everyone who comes into my home remarks on how nice it smells.
They can also be nice for some who is in a nursing home to make the room smell pleasant without using sprays.

Right now my house doesn't smell that great because I have 30 cats and have been snowed in for 3 days now, snow plow buried my car and I can't get to a store to buy cat litter. My sister is coming tomorrow to take me, so by tomorrow night, my house will be smelling a whole lot better! By the way, thanks for your liquid potpourri idea, I'm gonna try that! I will keep it well away from the cats! I have some (high) hanging silk plants and I'll put some small bowls of the sruff in them!

I am a bit of a fresh air freak and even in winter I open my windows , If it is too wet and windy I have small battery fragrance dispensers , they can be set to come on every minute of 5 minutes or a short burst they make the house smell really nice , sometimes you can't smell it but other people do and it smells lovely to come home to xx

Sounds like an interesting idea. Maybe I'll give it a try. I never went in for candles much but I do occassionaly burn a stick of incense. Mostly I just open the windows a bit to air out the house every few days.

I tend to use a lot of aromatherapy oils for scenting my home. My favourite is cinnamon, I use this in a burner set onto a shelf which is high enough to disperse the scent but it's also safe. The other scent I use a lot is bergamot, very fresh can often act as a bit of a pick me up if you are tired or down.

I don't like the smell of aromatherapy oils and sprays. Keeping things clean and fresh air is good. I use things that does not bother my breathing. I have trouble with things like this.

My home usually smells of laundry detergent or some kind of cleaner, but today it is smelling like spring as it is warm enough to open all the windows up and let in the fresh air. I used to burn candles but with 3 cats running around it is really not safe so I now have one of the warming plates that you just place your candle on and it melts it, so I have an apple pie candle melting and it smells great.

I never really appreciate the smell in my house until I come after being out in the air. I have no small children at home so I admit to burning scented candles. I have a lily of the valley one burning in the dining room at the moment as this is my favourite scent. I bought cinnamon sachets at Christmas for the bathrooms but these are almost worn out. Recently I bought scented toilet rolls. I didn't know they were scented until I brought them home and unwrapped them but they smell really nice. I don't use any scents in the bedrooms as I find they are a bit overpowering when I am trying to sleep. I must search for the liquid potpourri and see if I can refresh my old bowls of potpourri with it. Great idea.

I have an electric potpourri crockpot. It looks just like a regular crock pot, only smaller.
I like to use liquid potpourri, usually berry scented, but at Christmas time, I've used Cinnamon, or Pumpkin Spice, even evergreen.
I also have a "thing" for scented candles....just ask my husband, lol. I like vanilla, and I have a really nice smelling oatmeal raisin cookie.
But those are just because I like the smells..when I had multiple dogs, I'd swear by Febreeze to get rid of that 'wet dog' smell!! I thought it ws a great compliment when a neighbor said that you couldn't tell I had pets.

My house smells good naturally because we can have windows open all the time to let fresh air in. I use who warmers if I ever want to relax with a good scent. I don't like my house smelling so much though with scents and all that because I have little kids.

Well, my kitchen tends to smell because the garbage disposal gets backed up, and my bathroom tends to smell because the drain gets clogged up...and they are both very annoying! Those sprays such as febreeze air, and lysol sprays do not last long at all, and in my opinion don't really work. I have been using a Yankee Candle (lilac blossoms) for a few years, and it is the absolute best smell in the world, and it lasts a long time too!

My house has no odor or fragrence in it. I just keep it clean, and if I want something special, I open the windows to get the fresh fragrence of nature outside.

Thanks for the tip, I like to burn candles in my home, after using all the cleaning products, and my hubby likes them after we eat dinner. So, the house smells nice and fresh. We like vanilla the most. I love a lot of the flowery smells, some cinnamon can be too strong for me and will make me choke, but other than that, it is great. I love to burn in my tart burner, with tealights in the bottom. I believe that that will also work, for the stuff you recommended. Thanks, will check it out. My hubby would love it.
