Do you have problems with aspertame?

I can not use this artificial sweetener. I get immediate pounding headaches from it. It must be some type of food allergy, although I have heard other people have had some real problems with it also. I really wish I could use it because as far as taste it isn't too bad. What's your experience with this product?

Thanks for the information. I have heard of Stevia. I think it should be a good alternative since its natural. Do you know if you can bake with it?

I have noticed that whenever I use a lot of aspartame my face starts to break out really bad. At first I thought it was diet cola, but it still happens with caffeine-free flavored waters sweetened with aspartame and with sugar-free jello. My face clears up quickly if I cut all aspartame out of my diet, and will break out once again if I use it. I am convinced that it is causing this, and I try to avoid it altogether. It is a shame that many people are unable to use it, because it is actually the best artificial sweetener so far.

I never noticed that problem, but it sounds like an allergy to me. I agree that its good for a sweetener. I just wish I could use it.
