I used to really be addicted to it answering questions at the start. However now i'm only stuck between 660 & 700 points since i've been mainly asking q's. And i've been getting quite gd ans too. it's a sureway to get the ans u need, & i'd say that Mylot is somewhat of a "spin-off" from it...
However, the main plus of ML is the money. Otherwaise i like the Yahoo Ans interface anyday. A lot more cheery, the connectivity with email/IM is a big plus too.
What's ur take on this...?

hey gd for u, it really helped me too. the pts system is easy. i think there's a link on it that gives a full table of the pts.
-5 if u ask a question
+3 if u choose a best ans for a q u asked (this is b4 the expiry of the q)
+2 (i think) if u ans a q...i've not gone on it to ans much 4 quite some time now so i don't remember. for the full (& correct) list find the link that gives the whole table...

yeah, initially i started answering on yahoo, you get a real information by answering there, but as for mylot it pays although the discussions are not really satisfying, i still sometimes switch to yahoo answers and most rewarding there is when your answer is choosen as the best, but for money i use more of mylot

Yahoo Answers has become a nasty beast. Between the kids and the "how do I get on MySpace from my school?" questions, and the trolls that post the hate crap, I just got tired of it. Everytime I turned around, I was seeing the same crap over and over. Then, they changed the system and let the idiots run free and started summarily deleting questions with complaints. Managed propery, it could be good again, but Yahoo seems to take the "well, we'll do what we want; because we're Yahoo" attitude. The more you do to try and improve the system, the more they screw with you.

I am totally addicted to Yahoo Answers. What an amazing and totally free service available to anyone. I've been on it for about a month and have asked more questions than I've answered. There are tricks to it I've found, such as the time of day you ask your question and which section you file your question under. Sometimes I ask open ended questions that don't have specific answers such as "What is your most meaningful travel destination?" but the rest of the time I just post random questions that pop into my head. The system is genius: you can only ask a certain number of questions, so you must accumulate "points" in order to ask more questions, so it weeds out some of those people who make similar communities unpleasant.
