United States

i own a business and we got this one girl come in the place all the time, without saying anything or asking if she could use bathroom or not, walking in and minutes later she leave the bathroom and go on her way. should i say something to her? i am worry about that she may be hidding some stuff in there like drug or stuff like that but i can't go in when she is in there, so i am worry, should i tell her to stop using the bathroom? speicaly there is a bathroom in the gas station across the street? it is not the first time that she did that, it more like 5 or 6 times not, she would walk in use the bathroom and walk out. i do not sure what to say.

As I know you have a cd store... or something like this. I am sure you do not have to keep a bathroom for your customers. (you do not have to in EU, unless it is a bar,or restaurant, or café) So, I would tell her, "excuse me, but this bathroom is not public bathroom" I think she use yours because that is cleaner, than the bathroom in the gas station opposite the street. If she is not your friend, or not your regular customer, why should you let her to use this. You do not know her... I would not let anybody use the bathroom in the office I work, who come in from the street. I clean that place. That is private bathroom! phhh!

:DD Than the only solution to lock the door, and the guests should ask for it from the staff. But I think a restaurant can allow one more person to use the bathroom. I see you are a rich guy , wow! you have a restaurant too. cool! If I knew about it earlier... :D

Next time she comes in tell her that this is a private bathroom and can she please use the one across the street. Maybe she just coming in so she can look at a certain person that she might like.

the problem with it is that is not a private bathroom, it is a business so the bathroom is open to the public, and i am not there most the time, my parents who work there told me that a week ago and i notice more since they said something.

Put a "Private" sign on the bathroom door and LOCK IT! She shouldn't be going in and out like with, ESPECIALLY if she has never said a word to you. She needs to find another place to go. Just make the change without saying anything and see what she says. Keep the key on you at all times, that way in case you leave your "post" then you'll know that she can't just get in there without asking you first.

the door doesnt have a lock and i want the other people that do come in be able to use the bathroom, i dont mind if someone need to use it, i just wish they ask first, is like me walking someone's house without asking and start peeing at someone's house i probaly get shot at or something.

are you serious? she just comes in and out like that? why did you let her do that in the first place?? I never let anyone just do that, even if it was cold outside and they have to wait for the bus. Since most customers like to look around my shop and stay a while talking about their wedding plans, they wouldn't feel comfortable to see strangers walk in just like that. There was once I made an exception, a little old lady almost fainted and so I let her in. But in your case, well unless you plan to date her, you should say something LOL

yes i am serious, she just comes in and out like that, i couldnt say no, and most of the time i am too busy with other people and have to take care of them to talk to her about it. once or twice are ok, but i wish she ask first. so that is why i am kinda upset.

Put a sign up on the bathroom door that says "Customers only" and get a lock for the bathroom door too. Under where it says Customers Only, put "go to counter for key." That is the only way you can make sure she doesn't keep coming back. I hope this helps you out.

put a sign on the door saying employees only barring that an out of order sign but enlighten other employees first of your intentions the final step would be confronting the woman involved and letting her know that she may not use tyour bathroom again as it`s not public properity

but it is a public bathroom, the problem is she walk in and use the bathroom and leave without even asking if she could use it, i mean a couple time is fine but after while, it make seem like she does this on puppose.

ooooo - Gotta Go Gotta Go
You can either tell her or post signs stating the bathroom is for customers only. I mean I can see if it was an emergency someone needing to go bad they could ask. But if it bothers you put a stop to it. Like you said there is a gas station across the street. You could ask her to start going over there.

I would put the sign up first. Then if that didn't stop her I would just tell her the bathroom is only for customers.

That's a bit cheeky of her. I would put a notice on the door saying "For Stafff Only". Could you lock the door to the bathroom and keep the key in your office or somewhere so that she will not have access to it? If you can't do either of these, then I would just tell her that there is a public facility across the street.

i wish i can put a note on the door that say staff only but it is a public restroom, i dont mind people using it as long they ask. the part that bugs me is that she just walk in and not say nothing. kind makes like she got something to hide. and i cant put a lock on because if someone need the key and i am not their i dont want to be responbile of they pee their pants

It is your right as the owner to tell her that she must be a customer to use the bathroom. If you're worried about her hiding stuff in there, just check it out after you close or something. Most businesses don't mind if you need to come in and use the bathroom without buying anything, but if it's becoming a problem, then I think you should confront her about it.

see the only thing with that is, i guess there is alot of business around that let people in and using the bathroom without buying anything, i would understand that if she did that a couple time, but i just kinda worry not that she is doing more more that is all.

I understand when some businesses have a 'closed door policy' on their bathrooms (for staff only), but also having had young children that have to go NOW! I do appreciate business letting customers use them. But in your case, I would definitely say something to the person. You need to protect your staff!

I've seen several places that put a sign out stating that the bathrooms are for paying customers only. I know it's a little extreme, but you may want to consider it if you are really concerned.

This is a little difficult situation, I mean may be you are finding it difficult to talk to her directly regarding using the bathroom. But I think you should talk to her directly. Just say her that the bathroom is for private use and lock the bathroom.

i wish i can lock the bathroom but it is for public use and i dont have a problem with it, but i want her to atleast ask, because for me i think it is kinda rude when you just walk into a business and not ask just use their bathroom. and another problem i cant lock the door, because what if a paying coustmer want to use it, so i stuck in the middle.

Have you tried talking to her in some way? You might be surprised. Plus......if you have cops walking in often, mention the event and cover yourself.

Even I would have got confused if faced a problem like this. Anyway be straight and ask her not to come to office and use your toilet as toilet is meant for people who give you buisness that is for customers, Employees and you. It would be great if she finds someother place to get personal with.
