Check out this site, it has triggers and remedies. http://www.askdrsears.com/html/8/t08180.asp I found that I needed to use perfume free lotions, soaps, and detergent. I ran a humidifier near my son at night, when the heater comes on in the winter, it just sucks all the moisture out of the air and that makes it flare up worse. Sometimes I'd have to use steroid cream, I hated doing that for my son because we usually only use natural stuff, but just a little bit worked when it got bad. The good news is that I had eczema as a child and I outgrew it, so it may not be forever!

Have you tried Melaleuca products? I've recently met someone with a child that had eczema and by switching to melaleuca's product that child has been outbreak free. The secret is in the tea tree oil. The main product that is used for eczema is this product called "Renew" that is a lotion. For small children Melaleuca has a body wash and hair wash called Koala. I have samples of the renew lotion... If you would like some to try you may email me at missyworkathome@yahoo.com
You can find a study on eczema and melaleuca at http://melaleuca.com/ps/pdf_us/US_RenewPIB0806.pdf

I am not sure they have found anything to get rid of it, there are a lot of things on the market that can control it, and I think it depends on how svere it is to what product you use, I knew someone that had it all his life and there wasn't mush he could do about it now I have a baby nephew with it and it is a pretty bad case so I wish someone would comy up with something.....

i had eczema once and its really hard to cure. its a recurring fungus. dont wash the scabs so often or it would dry the skin making it worse and a lot more itchy. i just apply petroleum jelly whenever i can. i use the one with vitamin e and a in it. its gonna take long time to heal tho but its worth it. also keep wound moist.

DS was getting eczema around his eye. The doctor said to use his A&D ointment on it with a qtip at bedtime. He'd rub it too much any other time and risk getting the ointment in his eye. It took a few weeks, but he finally got rid of it. I'm glad he only had it there. I take care not to wash him too much and use lotion when I do. Hope your son gets better!
