What do you think about take a gap year to be au pair in USA?
I'm French and I think I will do this next year.
Do you have an au pair? Would you have one later?
Is it common for a family to have an au pair?
and so on...

I wish you all the best in pursuing whatever you are going to do for your future. I think that is a good idea you have there.
It's quite common in my country Indonesia to have an au pair. As for me, I don't really want to have one, as far as I could handle everything by my own, I would prefer to handle it myself.
But, I wouldn't mind having a helper in terms of doing cleaning, washing and ironing my house.
In Indonesia, it's common practise to have on au pair per one child and 1 or 2 helper (or even more) in one household.
