I got windows XP but i would like linux, as i quote from another forum.
With windows you get windows--Linux gives you the whole house
The package said Windows 98 or better--So i installed Linux
Linux is faster and more efficent than Windows, i dunno about Vista tho :/
Have a nice day and enjoy your earnings

Well if i had to choose only between the two then right now it has to be Windows XP....though the new Vista is great it seems to be having compatibility problems which are being sorted out....but later i guess vista will be great....but otherwise i prefer linux....

well i already used vista and found it pathetic(beta version)
there are may incompatability problems..and many other things.. i cant play my games etc ....
i wud suggest to wait for some time and then go for vista..coz by that time these bugs might be fixed in vista

Hello crycet, yes i just install an evaluation copy of the Windows Vista Home Premium on my home computer. The Windows Vista give me the impression of nice graphic ,but it very not compatible with most software, for eg: Winzip , Need for Speed (game) and etc. Although it is very impressive on the graphic but i think i won't go for it for the time being, still waiting for those compatible software so that i can use those software or game without any problem on it. If not, i will still stick on my Windows XP.

We have two PCs at home, one for me and one for my hubby. Mine was just bought a month ago so it has Vista as its OS. I did post as a response about its advantages but I have to tell you in case you haven't read it...
advantages are:
- you have to confirm every administrator action that happens on the PC so no other software can be installed without you knowing it
- there's a new sidebar features for quick access, desktop search capabilities,a ribbon toolbar, and the ability to get email messages, read back through Outlook in different languages
- it does have voice messaging feature too
- you can see advantages in terms of the stability, security and productivity of the system. if users have the
proper processing and graphics power on their computers, they can load more windows at the same time without seeing any telltale white space that shows the PC is having trouble loading all the images

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA.
Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.
