Is chatting cheating?

Do you think engaging in conversations outside of a chatroom cheating? For example you are in a chatroom and someone sends a private message and you and that person become "buddies" and you spend a lot of time talking to them. Does your other half have the right to be upset with you? What do you think?

Making friends in our everyday encounter with people whether on the net or not is not cheating. We should know the limitations and consider the feelings of our better half as well. If one spends too much time talking to them, it is only normal for our significant other to get upset. I wouldn't expect anything less. I do get several PM's from women and I share them with my wife and explain to her the circumstances of the message. It doesn't take a lot of time to explain and make everything clear. Better than do things that can arouse suspicion in her mind.
