Are you ADDICTED to YOUTUBE?

I guess youtube has really taken off, after being taken over by google for a little over a billion, ($1.65 Bill, to be exact). I, for one, did not know much about it, until my cousin told me about it, and wanted me to check something out. Then, it had merged with google and it was everywhere. I still do not check it out much, but my husband, who loves google, is now attached to youtube also. He looks for his news, politics, political debates, and even some funny stuff here and there. But, I cannot understand what is so addictive and interesting about it. I realize that many people see it as their chance at fame, but it is also a way of making someone infamous. I don't know what power it holds over people, perhaps many of you can shed some light on the subject.

I've only been on that website once. And that was because my friend sent me a link to a page to look at something funny. It was a group of teenage guys dancing debka outside in the streets and in drive thrus like at mcdonalds. I would never post any videos of me on there though.

Yeah, me neither, that would be very embarrassing. And also, I just don't see what is so fun about having our lives broadcast for every person in the world to see. I can understand checking out news, politics, etc...but personal things, are really just embarrassing.

I'm not addicted to Youtube. In fact, I don't even know much about it. Once in a while, I'll hear something or another about a video on youtube, but I've never actually visited the site. I don't even think I'll be visiting it soon.

That is how I feel also. It just does not seem like it has anything I would need. But you never know, a year from now, I could be attached to it, I have become hooked on mylot, recently.

I feel little strange here.I don't know if I was the only one bu until before some days I had no idea about youtube.It was a topic that ask from us we watch something at youtube.It was my first time and after this i visit some times again.The true is I don't care so much for sites like this.First I haven't time to spend and if I had I'll choose something better to do.....

Yes, me too. I do not find it a way to spend my time. But, as I have mentioned before, that might change in the future, because sometimes, things become appealing after a while. I really hope not though, because there is no benefit to it, that I can see, I do not enjoy watching strangers do embarrassing things...it just seems like I am intruding in their lives.

my husband is the one who is addicted to it.
He likes to watch the anime stuff there.
Sometimes I watch there news footages and even episodes from tv series I missed watching the night or so before

Yeah i say that is one way to use youtube also since the said site eat a lot of bandwidth and it will be good to use it for specific time so as not to affect other programs that are running in your computer.

I see, that is a good reason. I think that my hubby also does that. He looks at things that he missed on the TV, or saw as a child. So, that could be the same reason he is so attached to it.

I love Youtube. Sometimes I type in the name of my hometown and surprisingly a bunch of local videos come up. VERY cool! It's also cool to find old footage from TV shows, etc.

i've used you tube, but i'm not addicted to it though. i've uploaded some of my home made videos and amv's to there for others to see. basiclly thats what its for to showcase your own creations although people use it for stupid reasons. everyone uses youtube because its one of the more popular video streaming sites. its pretty hard to find those now days where you can upload your video and post it anywhere.

I see, well, as long as you are not worried about privacy issues and all that, then that is cool. I would be too worried of having been on the web, where everyone knows details about me, that are just too embarrassing. It seems too much like a "let's embarrass him/her family video" place, that is just too embarrassing for me...

For me personally it is a channel to display projects that our production company has done. When a client calls who is not familiar with our work I send them to our site,My Space or You Tube. It's fairly easy to upload recent projects so the client can see for themselves. On our website it may take the graphics guy quite some time to add a recent project. Even with You Tube it takes some time.

I am not addicted to it. But I will sometimes watch the performances from the 60's and 70's. Like watching Mick Jagger in the 60's. Was he really that young looking? I have found a few homemade videos of songs I like. There are some fairly talented performers around. But there is also a lot of junk too. You can find old recordings from TV from the 50's & 60's, mostly songs. It is kind of a historical channel in some respects. I would rather watch an hour of Youtube than watch the garbage on TV nowadays.

That is the way my hubby feels, also. We do not watch a lot of TV in general, so that is also a good thing. I just hope that he does not become more attached to it. He watches for 1-2 hrs every other day, but sometimes, he will be on it for 3 hours, if has no work or nothing else to do. He does say, that he gets bored of it quickly, so that is also good. I think that when he finds something from his youth, he likes to watch the entire thing, until it is over, and that is what keeps him glued.

I am not addicted but it is fun to watch some of the crazyest videos out there ...in fact I just uploaded one to my profile this morning that I thought was just so funny you would not believe it until you saw what happened ...they put a girl in a huge slingshot and pulled it back with a four wheeler ..its on my profile if you want to see the ending ...lol

its scenerio that video will attract then a simple text ..
thus the times mag have named youtube has the no 1 ........
it share the every moment of lifethat can b shared to any

Yes, youtube is growing in popularity day by day. But there is also some negative aspect to it with a lot of pirated clips and unethical clips coming in. With such a huge database, the admins of youtube will obviously have a tough time moderating each and every video.

That is true. And another reason why I do not really want to spend my time there, because I feel that it is just support for all of those that are breaking the law. And, it worries me that there are children watching such negative things.

No i am not addicted to youtube, in fact i do not have an account on the said site since when i am or according to some of my friends youtube eats a lot of bandwidth and it slows down computer operation that is if there are other programs running also. greetings... : )

I like youtube but no addicted to it..I just go there if I want to see something different when I am not doing anything..I like the scary stuffs there..and the music...My kids also like it..They watch some cartoons in there..It's nice but we are not addicted but it is in our bookmarks. Well for me I guess people like it very much because it's quite entertaining..Lots of things to see..It's like watching tv..
