Ok, so as you can see, I have a little star by my name that's a white star with a seven inside of it. I've seen like every single number. Is it better to have a lower number, or a higher number?
This is not an opinion question, I want to know the fact.

A high number is better. If you mouse over your star you will see a reputation ratio. For example right now yours is a 71/100 rating. Now how they determine that I'm not sure but I believe it's 71 positive votes out of a 100. The higher the star the higher the reputation ratio. The lower the star the lower the ratio. They range from 10 down to 1. Having a reptuation of 10 is very, very good while a reputation of 1 is very, very bad.

so if 1 person gives you a positive, you get a ten? or if 100 ppl give you a positive, it's 10?

How is that? I do not see any numbers
when I run the mouse over the star?
How are you getting these numbers again?

I believe that 10 is the highest number
and that is the number I think most people
would like to attain.
If you have a low number then you may
want to spend more time on your responses
and make them as appropriate as possible.

It is better to have a 10 inside your star. You can generally tell just by reading the posts but that's not to say that there are some very good posts from people with stars in the lower denominations. I personally think the whole star thing is a bit over rated.
