why mohammad kaif couldnt find a place in team india

Hi, first and foremost I share your opinion that kaif should have been selected for this world cup as he has better technique than veeru, yuvi and pathan, was the best home team odi batsman when we toured caribbean some months ago and arguably one of the best fielders india has ever produced. Then why he is not finding a place in team india? The reasons could be the following. Veeru seems to possess an invisible saviour who safeguard him to be in the team in spite of his dismal performances in the last 2 years continuously. May be kaif doesn't have any. AND I SINCERELY STILL FEEL THAT VEERU'S PLACE SHOULD HAVE GONE TO KAIF THIS TIME ATLEAST. I have taken this stand many times in this forum in the last one month. Truthfully speaking, there's nothing wrong with pathan's batting. He was left in a brief wilderness just because of below par bowling performance. So, you cannot justify kaif in his place. Regarding yuvi, well, I hope you have seen the last match with the lankans. Also, after natwest finals, yuvraj has played such matchwinning innings more frequently than kaif in his given chances. So, you cannot justify kaif's preference over yuvi at this stage. And I see you've mentioned sachin in one of the comments to the people who have responded to you as inconsistent performer. It may or may not be true, but does kaif possess that aura and reassurance that engulf the other batsmen when sachin is in the opposite end? Can he create panic in the bowler when taking stance like tendulkar? And remember, you are questioning sachin's consistency after 17 long years of international cricket. What about kaif's consistency then?. Has he played one noteworthy innings after that caribbean tour? Thanks.

Yes he did not got as many chances of playing as other players but according to me he should prove himself by being more consistent at batting and make the middle order strong and be the player whom india should rely upon.

Kaif, no doubt he is a very good fielder, now a days his battinng performance is very much in bad patch.Secondly he is not doing bolling. So considering overall perfomance selecton team may not be considering suitable. Moreover,unfortunately Kaif has no any godfather to present him strongly.Bad luck ! WE hope he will come back again.

md. kaif is best fielder in the team! i thought he would be the future captain of the team !! i agree with u that he was not given much chances as sehwag or yuvraj but he failed to impress the selectors in south africa tour and the other players like karthik performed better than kaif .... its difficult the selectors to ignore the players who r performing ...... do remember the classic player like vvs laxman also not included for world cup since past 2 times though he is a good batsmen.... the team this time is good and consists of good players and am sure this team will perform well in the world cup....... all the best team india!!

it's simply beco'z of his inconsistency with bat as u can't maintain ur place just due 2 ur good fielding.kaif is referred 2 as good finisher but he was not able 2 produce good knocks.

ya, I agree that Mohammad kaif is an excellent player and proved himself by winning many tough matches for India. But the present Indian Team for this world cup with Mohammad Kaif is also the best with batsmen, all rounders and bowlers. Kaif would not make it into the Indian squad, thats the bad part, but we would like to win world cup with best team against the tough ones for this big event.

He scored in several matches and made our team india win..but he lacked in his consistency..in the past several matches he scored a few runs which is poor record for him..he s one of the great fielder and batsman..but the selectors selected by the player's current record..hence he s unable to find a place in our world cup squad...

now the time is cheers for those players who have selected for W.C. 2007 who is to leave on 28th Feb. Mohammad Kaif deserves a place but there are lot of batsman who are in form such as Sourav Ganguly, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Kartik, Robin, Rahul, Sachin to whom they will not be ignored. yes it is Virender Sehwag in which Mr. Kaif can be selected but the reason is given that as Sehwag has the capacity of bowling along with his batting and fielding, so Mr. Kaif will not included.

mohammad kaif was out of form now a days.his fielding was only a positive point.if he plays back to his form,then only we can expect him.moreover,his presence was a big motivation to other players.
