i got a dirty response...:( and i am upset over it...

The first thing that I would have done, is report it. That way, they can remove the comment, or at least remove the person. Also, you can report a person over and over, so that there is more action, but you can only rate a person one. So, first off, you should do all your reporting first, and then, rate them negative. Yes, there are many terrible people out there, I have been trying, since I got here, to keep a lot of the spammers and the mean people from making us miserable here, but there is always more new ones. That is why we all have to work together, because the mylot admin cannot do everything, and they need us to help.

People like that ruin things for everyone. I don't know much about myLot, can people get banned for things like that? Can people (other than the discussion starter) provide feedback for it? Maybe if he gets enough bad feedback he will be gone...fingers crossed, or is that just wishful thinking? I know what you mean about sisters though. My sister is my best friend in the world. Although I have found you can have just as meaningful relationships with brothers. I think your siblings can be the best friends you will ever have.

ah i hate these kind of peoplle my self !! my sister too mean too much to me why cant people be polite in their words?? they are always hurting others by their mean and rude words!!

Oh some people do give negative responses to our discussions it is best to give them a negative rating when they do this to us I have given a couple of negative ratings when people give me negative responses but the majority thank goodness I give them positive ratings to my discussions, so I think that you did the right thing and only thing that you could do so hopefully he will not come back again.

It's too bad when people have to act like that. I'm all for people having a bad day coming in here to boost their mood. But if one behaves like this to others one should really not ineract with the rest of us. The best thing to do is to give them a bad rating, or if it is really bad report them. Then we should try to avoid taking part in discussions they start to minimize their earnings.

Well i second with on your thought, I guess mylot needs to put in a check on otherwise it would go the orkut way, wherein we would have more dirt than having friends come closer. I guess reporting abuse should be strictly dealing with such people and if someone gets a specified number of bad rating he needs to be chucked out.

That is just obnoxious! Don't get stuck being upset over this for long. He probably was only out for a reaction and is probably sitting back laughing right now. People like that don't need to be a part of MyLot. If it bothers you for too long, report him. By the way, I have 2 sisters.

oh.. im sorry for your situation.. i will come to your situation.. and give a negative rating to that guy... and make him feel bad.. for what he has done.. dont worry.. in good places.. like this where interaction between genuine ideas and advices are going on... its digusting to see such stupids...

i know what yo are saying cos i have seen his response such people dont have anything in their head their top floor is empty they dont think that they too may have sisters in their house i have given a negative to him too hope it helps

That's a shame but it happens. Can't let the scum get you down. Next time, try using the exclamation button to report him to Mylot instead of just giving a negative. They'll eventually (usually takes a couple reports) take the comment off and if he's a repeat offender which this discussion indicates he may be, they might remove him for good.

Yes, you did the right thing by giving a -ive rating. Its really bad that such people exists in mylot. It is supposed to be a good place to share your problems or express yourself. Such people should be banned from mylot. If you find someone like that just give them -ive rating and ignore them. They will automatically be out of this community.

Don't let it bother you-- Some people are just crude! I;m sure your sister is great! I have 1 sister-in-law.. She is great.. Wish she was closer. Ignore the rude people-- In this case I would say giving the negative rating was fine-- Crude remarks-- Good luck with future discussions!

Sorry to hear that you have to deal with that. Unfortunately mylot is like a lot of things in life - sometimes you have to deal with jerks. You need to report people like that - a negative will mean nothing in the scheme of things as it's only to do with your star rating!! Anything comments that offend you can be reported under the terms of discussion as it's a violation. The Mylot police are not mind readers so you have to press the ! button and let them know! At least then they can act on it then.

that's a bad response. 2 people responded to my discussion and were really rude and said i was whacked and a wussy. the other guy said my discussion was lame. i did leave them both responses of equal level of stupidity. i also gave them both a negative rating for being so rude. if the guy had the screen name coolguy. then that's why. i've seen other posts from him equally rude and inconsiderate.

That person did what he liked to do and you equally repsonded the same way, the whatz there to get upset about? Intially, you might have started a discussion that gave room for such a response, that was your mistake. Secondly the respondent made use of your folly and wrote to hurt you, it was his folly and then you nullified his act by marking his response as -ve. Allz over, so dont be upset. Take it lightly

To answer your previous discussion, i don't have any "actual" sisters, but i do have 2 friends that i call my sisters...and i love them dearly.
