i belong actualy to northern india but for last 25 year i am happyily living first in madras now in chennai.chennai has gone through lot of makeovers some good and not very good.one such invasion in day to day life of chennaites is disapprence of half saree(davani-pavadi)use, at least from chennai city, this beautiful traditional dress has silently given way to jeans sets and punjabi suits.i don,t know much about out side chennai but in chennai this is a rare dress used by girls.shoul we not preserve our traditional values and manners from becoming history.

Yest traditional values are to be preserved and served to other generations. Like dAvaNi and pAvAdai for girls, even dhOtIs are not being worn by gents. Everybody starts wearing SUITS that suits them.

hey well punjabi suits is very well within our culture but yes i agree to the point that the cultural awareness is very much on the decline and the younger generation is no more interested in using the culture as a backbone .
