My classes started last week, so I could not post as much as I used to. My mailbox was filled with new discussions. Even after I reply a fraction of them, it kept growing. Today, I managed to clear all of them, replied to most of them, except a few which I am not sure of. It took me more than a week to do this. Has this happened to you? Or do you simply delete off the posts?

But the problem is I have around 60-70 and all of them are very active. They all start around 5-10 posts every day.

I have been with this site less than a week and really don't have the time or inclination to reply to every one of my "friends" new discussions. I have a full time job and write for other sites too which I really enjoy but I can't dedicate all of my leisure time to responding to discussions. Many of the discussions started by my "friends" here are ones that are of no relevance to me so I won't post a response just saying "I don't know anything about this" as it adds nothing to the discussion and doesn't help anyone. This might also get me negative ratings which I don't really want.
I would hope that people who've added my as a friend or those who I have added will be understanding and not expect me to respond to every discussion they post, just as I don't expect everyone to respond to every one of mine.

That is a valid point. Even I don't respond to post which are not my cup of tea. But I try my level best to reply to the most of the posts.
