I don't think you are mad; music takes me away too..Music is very soothing to the soul and does help you forget the present. In a sense you enter into the momenet of the musician..:)+

You are absolutely right. Some songs really take you to a different world. Whenever I am very sad, music helps me cry and release those sorrows.

isn't it amazing how music affects us? it gets into us and takes us away from this crazy world for a moment. reflect, think and make us cry? but i don't think it's wrong. i feel relieved whenever i get drifted away by music sometimes.

lol..it happens to all who are passionate abt music..and i think almost everyone is passionate abt it..sometimes they dont know that themselves..dont call urself mad..bcoz i feel the same way u do..and i dont think am mad:P..it has been scientifically proved dat music can kindle everything..perhaps we've heard of music that brings rain and music that calms down people..and even cures people of sickness..dont ask me then why we still do have problems happenieng if music can clear out everything..its just that we dont have genuine experts who master over music..music can make u cry, laugh whatever..it can even transform someone completely...i consider it very divine in fact!!..

You are right. I am from a musical family. From birth I grew listening to keerthanas, and ragas. And I was taught that some ragas could bring rain, some happiness etc.

I'm like you. I think the music is powerful. With it, we can forget everything for a few moment.
What I prefer is playing music, especially the piano. When I sit in front of it, I know that I will liberate me soon, that the notes will take my heart's substance to spread it all around...
Music allows me to fly away... I become only interpretation. With it, I dive in a world where I'm alone, but alone with my partner: my instrument.
Often, I close my eyes and then I play for a long time... I cry, I laugh, and after I feel so good!
I don't think I'm mad. Everyone have his own way of liberation and expression...

Even I compose songs. And I find it very soothing to listen to my compositions, but my friends tease me saying, whenever they come to my house, they are "forced" to listen to my songs. I don't mind.

I think, we are in the same boat. Even I listen to hindi songs mostly. I cried listening to Kailas Kher yesterday, that made me post this topic. "Ya Rabba" from Salaam-e-ishq

I am sure, music is really divine. I am grateful to god that he has given me the ability to sing and more importantly enjoy music.

i am an emotional type of person. and i am not ashamed to be like that.
the songs that really moves me are: She, The Way You Look Tonight, Moonriver, Grow Old With You, Fools Rush In, and The Promise. and i think there are still lots on my list.
i easily get moved just like you. i feel like i am drifted into another place just finding me and the music in it. these music also make me miss more my boyfriend.

I say that "Music Makes Me"
I just can not get enough music and it fulfils me and makes me so much easier to love with. It sounds pretty normal to me.

no you are not mad!dont worry..haha
its a normal phenomenon....music that is soft, touchy ,mellow may at times touch your emotional strings.
what i feel is that sadness already resides within you and when you hear a song that realtes to you in some way....tears start falling out because you cannot control your emotions at that moment.
what do you think!

Yes, it happens to me, and that's one of the things I love about music. I have read that listening to music actually changes your brainwaves and definitely affects the part of your brain having to do with feeling emotion. So don't worry that you are mad, just enjoy this wonderful escape!
