We often remember the favours done to us by our friends. But why dont we remember the role our parents have played in making our life a successful one.In many cases, children send their parents to old age homes as soon as they grow old and lean.Do you think that its rite on their part to do that?Dont you think that even your children will do such a thing to you when you grow old???

There are people who have great experiences with their parents (your case),there are people who have been badly
abused by their parents, there are people who happily live separately and yet maintain a good relationship with their parents.
Nobody, forgets a good deed, if the parent requires help then they will be taken care of. However, there are politics involved especially in the case of Asian families, where the parents try to make all the decisions of the child right from the school, to the person the child has to marry, all for just one simple requirement to stay at home after retirement.
I feel strongly against such kind of parents and on the contrary feel that parents should give full freedom to their kids and they kids would take care of them, forever,
not just old age. Also, i have seen many cases where the parents and children are both happy despite living far away from each other (in some cases 2 different continents).

I actually plan to take care of my mother when she grows older. I do not want to put her in a home where I am not sure how they will treat her. She is my mother and has done a lot for me in life, and for that I thank her.
I certainly hope that when I have kids, they decide not to put me in a home. I know that some homes are good and do take good care of the residents, but it isn't the same as being around family. Especially if you are close to the end of your days.
