What kind of charities?

What kind of charities do you regularly give to? Do you give to those closer to your homeland or prefer to send them abroad?

I give money to animal rescue centres, private ones not the the big charity ones because I am conscious that not all my money will go to the charity. I give old clothes, and stuff I sort out that I don't need any more to charity shops mainly cancer research to help them out. I also buy stuff from charity shops too to. So I contribute in that way also.

Wolfie that is admirable and that you look out for the less popular charities is better..I too like to take stuff to goodwills or other similar places;)+

My wife and I support Cancer Research, the Red Cross, and Guide Dogs for the blind. Some of these are UK based but the Red Cross is international in its approach.
