I've been wondering what other Operating systems are commonly used by computer enthusiasts aside from Windows Operating System. I only knew and use Windows. And I'm kind of curious as to use and explore another OS like Linux or something else. Mylot friends, do you have something to suggest to me, no more Windows please. And if you do have, please state some features about it. Thanks and advance guys, I'll appreciate every help I can get.

Honestly no other OS is really going to match up to what you can do with windows. Mac OS is fine, but you'd need a macintosh computer. Linux has bugs and issues just like Windows. It also has issues with hardware compatibility. If you use a wireless internet connection you can expect to spend a week trying to get connected. I'd really suggest you stick with either Windows XP or Windows 2000. Bugs really aren't that common if you avoid spyware and viruses. Don't bother with Vista, it's just a prettier version of XP that uses four times as much memory.

I see, great comment taskr, I'm having Win XP Sp2, with high-speed 100mps connection, with accelerator. IE 6 had really made nasty problems with my PC. Recently I installed Firefox, thanks for 1 of the member here, I idled IE but not removed it. So far my browsing is better than before.

Good for you. I definitely recommend Firefox over IE. The new IE7 is like a cheap imitation of Firefox.

What if I completely uninstall IE, will it affect my system?
