I just watched the movie Longford on HBO. I was quite taken with the quality of acting, directing, cinematography etc of this movie. British actor Jim Broadbent plays the Earl of Longford ...a devoutly Catholic man who truly believes to the depth of his soul that all human beings can be redeemed by God's grace....Samantha Morton plays Myra Henley, a woman, who with a male accomplice is serving time in prison for ''the most brutal crime in British history''...the hideous murders of several children. She requests that Longford visit her in prison and once the interview is over, Longford believes she can be salvaged, and possibly returned to society once she has served her minimum time. The movie is not predictable and I will not give away the ending ...suffice it to say, it takes several twists and turns as it finally comes to a resolution. I just recently visited London for the first time in December ...this movie vividly captures England in the winter months...gloriously melancholy! I highly recommend this movie and would enjoy hearing input from others who have seen it!!! Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!!
