Last night I got an email invitation from MyBlogLog. A member was inviting me to become an author of her blog, which is located in Belgium. I had a quick look at the blog, then I just accepted the invitation. The blog dealt with video gaming, not something that really interests me, but I said to myself that I had nothing to loose. So, I accepted the invitation, then went to bed.
When I woke up this morning, I found that I had 58 messages in my mailbox, way above the normal number of emails I generally get with this account. All the messages, were MyBlogLog notifications. As I was trying to figure out what was going on, the messages kept coming. Finally, I logged to my MyBlogAccount and deleted the newly added blog from my profile and this stopped the spam. I don't know if these messages were legitimate or not, but receiving 58 messages over 8 hours is too bothering for me.

It is a community site and permits to discover new blogs out there. Some members are unfortunately misusing the system to promote their own blogs. I think it is OK to have just a single blog there. Why is it better to have multiple blogs?

I just deleted the new blog from the list of blogs I author and the annoying messages just stopped. MyBlogLog is a community site like mylot, though you need to have a blog to join the community (well, you can do it without having a blog, but I think that will not be very interesting).

The site itself is good and very legitimate. Actually, yahoo has bought it, a few weeks ago. Though, some members there are spamming others just to get more traffic to their own blogs.
