If given a choice, would you want to be an immortal?

My husband and I have recently started watching on DVD the old Highlander series with Adrian Paul.
After watching the show for some time, my husband and I would discuss and argue if being an immortal is really a good thing or not. I feel that it must be difficult to live forever and go through the process of losing loved ones over and over. After giving it some thought, I think i'd rather stick with being a mortal. After all, if you live well enough, one life is enough.
How about you? If given the chance to be an immortal, will you accept it and why?

I think one life would be enough for me. I get easily attached to people and i couldn't just lose them all the time. I can't stay alive and watch my loved ones die.
