A team like Australia who has reputation for holding the world number one rank almost unchallengedly over the past few years, should never be marked as "over". I think it is in one way better for them as it will give them the scope to repair small loopholes in the WorldCup team.

I don't think like that. Australia chapter is not loosing. still they are the no.1 team in the world. No doubt they are loosing 4 consecutive matches (2 against England and 2 against Newzeland) but still they have capable to turn the match. No a days they are loosing its due to the injuries in recent team and 2nd thing 5 or 6 no of there is sr. player are taking rest for the world cup. Just wait and watch the world cup then you can know everything.

The main problem with Australia is that they lost couple of players due to injury and couple of players are out of form. Andrew Symonds is the back bone of batting of Australia. Loosing Symonds means loosing half the batting of the Australia. Without Ricky Pointing and Symonds Australia looked very weak in batting. Another thing is injury to Brett Lee. I think Australia lacked a fast bowler less with out Brett Lee. Lack of good bench strength is also another reason of loosing match. Yeah, I think so. Australia has a chance to win the World Cup with return of Ricky Pointing, Adam Glichrist, Symonds, Brett Lee, etc back to the team. I think some of the Australian players were also tired physically and mentally and that might be another reason for loosing matches.

well i think they must be doing some experiment before the world cup or playing some politics. its not necessary that if they are losing now they would lose matches in worldcup too ,
to me i think they are just trying different experiment to get ready for the world cup and then they wouldnt suffer in world cup.
they are very cleaver,
Regards,
Sam

We can't hope on opponents injuries. We don't know what their second plans are. Got to wait and watch.

I dont really think that true!! we have to be realistic ... any team without key players is nothing... Warne and Mcgrath were there most key players along with Damien martyn and Symonds in their middle order... they do miss them ... but even then i think they are a good team and can adapt to the situations pretty quickly ... i do believe that they are still a good enough team to be number one in the world ... Southafrica and india are their tough contenders though

It's not tht aussies chapter is over but other teams have started to evolve. The aussies tried to remain the hare but the other teams slowly and steadily are rising and are proving themselves in the race.Autralia has lost the no.1 place in the recent ICC ratings, that signifies that other teams have raised their level of standard and play. The Australians have to be alert now.

Australia has rested its key players, we cannot be compacent still. But i agree they are not so powerful as they were?? This might be the end of the Australian ERA...This world Cup will tell the world who the real champion is..
