It seems to me like it's all about managing your time and your priorities. Communication is important here, as it is in any relationship. Both parties have to talk about their priorities and the time they spend together. I know it's gonna be like really hard to not devote your time in a relationship at first, but as time passes, you'll start to spend less time with each other because you're gonna start "getting back on track" with your studies. That's perfectly okay, so long as both parties understand that it's not about falling in love, it's about staying in love. In order to achieve that, you have to attend to other priorities and make time for each other.
