Selling your home - realtor or not?

I'm looking for some opinions about using a realtor to sell your home and buy another. You might describe your views according to one of these categories: 1. Of course I'll use a realtor. I've used them in the past and they are a great help. They are worth the money they charge. 2. I might use a realtor. Some of my past realtor experiences have not been so great, but I'm not so sure about doing it on my own. 3. I've used realtors in the past. Generally I have not been satisfied. They take a lot of my equity and I really cannot trust that they have my best interest at heart. Thinking about going on my own this time. 4. No way will I use a realtor again. Been burnt too many times. Other people do it on their own. With a little prep work, I can do it too. So cast your vote. Tell me where you are at in the range of 1 to 4. Not to bias your opinion, but I am somewhere between 3 and 3.2. Thanks for your response.
