How much does it cost you to get a ticket at your local movie theature? The prices for an adult, and kids should be included. You can tell us of any deals or other stuff if you like.
At my movie theature it's 7$ an adult, and 5$ for a kid. You can buy passes from organizations that are fundraising for 5$ each and then once the movie has been out for a week or two you can use those to get it. So you will save 2$ and then we also have a punch card thing where after 10 movies you get one free. Takes a while, usually expire before they are filled out.

In my country price range from $2-$6. It depends on what cinema you go to. My boyfriend and I usually go to Greenbelt 3 to get sure seats and we want THX theaters so thats around $3. In IMAX its about $6 here.

What country is this? Sounds like decent price for us, but it depends what most people make in an hour there.

It's funny, I haven't paid for a movie in a long time. I usually either get free passes to pre-screenings, or I get coupons and gift cards to video places. But, I think it averages about $10 to $10.50 here. Matinees are, I think around $5.00.
I consider that way too expensive. Usually I have to buy a bottle of water because of a health condition, and that also averages about $4.00.

LOL. Some places might sell them for $3, but I haven't been to those theaters recently. I can get a bottle of water for 50 cents on the outside. They don't let you bring anything in there!

Are you crazy FOUR DOLLARS FOR A BOTTLE OF WATER. Man I would seriously consider making my own theature in some of these towns. It woulnd't be hard to lure the people there with some reasonable prices.

Wow, that is high! I thought paying $7.50 was high for an adult ticket. I live in Central Florida.
The popcorn and candy prices are high as usual, but the theater is very nice, and there restrooms are very large, you hardly ever have to wait in lines. I like going to the theater here. ???

That is just a rip off. $7.00 a child jeez. Does it change by the times? As for the second comment there's never ever a line in the mens bathrooms :-)

In our country, movie tickets cost around $3 - $4. And I think it is really cheap compared to other countries.
I've been to US & Canada, and I've seen how nice their movie theatres are. And our movie theatres here in our country can be at par with the movie theatres abroad. So the $3 movie tocket price is really a bargain.
We also have an Imax theare here in our country and it will cost you around $5 for the movie ticket.

Imax are the best! Is 3 to 4 dollars reasonable enough for the amount most everyone makes in an hour?

In Virginia its $10 adult and $7 for child. If you go before a certain time then its $7 for everyone. I think there are cheaper rates for the elderly.
In New Zealand it varies depending on which town and or city you live in. The city i lived in charged $12.00 NZ for adults and around $8-9 for children. Sometimes they have specials during the day for children.
In Samoa its $6 tala for adults and $3.50 tala for children which is equivalent to $2.18 US dollars for adults.

12 bucks in new zealands? I'm guessing that's 12$ NZ not US because then nobody would go.

Here, movies are about $12 for an adult, $8 for a child/student/senior.
Minimum wage is about $8 per hour.

well, at an old theatre here before it closed down all the prices were the same. It was 7.46 I think for all ages. And 4.20 on Tuesdays all day. At another theatre in our city it's I believe 8 or 9 for adults and 7 for kids. You're lucky to have the punchcard system, it'd be neat to have.

Yeah because if I go with like 4 or 5 people like I usually do it's not hard to fill one up. Man what's with those wierd numbers? .46 and .20? Dang just charge me the extra 4 and 5 cents. I wouldn't want that, and it would be much easier to keep the lines moving.

Yeah that's what I sometimes do here. I just walk right in with it. Usually they don't care because it's none of their business. I would just be like **** you and walk away to the other door and walk through there.

In the Philippines, the most expensive one i can find is 300pesos which is in Imax theathre and that would be 6bucks for US right? But there's only one Imax theather here. The rest would cost us 2-3dollars per movie. Not bad for you eh? But getting expensive for us. It used to be just 40pesos or 80pesos 4years ago.:)

$7.75 for adults. It is the food that cost more. It is horrible the way they charge so much for their goodies.

I would just sneak food in for a really bad price. They are decent for a movie theature here, still expensive, but decent compared to most places. I would just sneak mine in, which I already do.

Most places I have been in Texas charge $8.25 for an adult ticket. I remember about 3 years ago it was only $6.75.
If you catch a matinee before 6 at this one theatre it is $4.00 for kids and $6.00 for adults. We also have a dollar theatre that plays movies that just left the big theatres but only plays 2 different movies. Movie tickets seem high just about everywhere though.

It ranges for an adult from 8.50 to 11.75 depending on which theater you visit. We do not have any punch cards that I know of. Childrens prices are around 7.50. Also if you go on a monday, tuesday, or wednesday adults get in for 7.50 as well.

At $11.75 you are so far the highest price so far! What state do you live in if you don't mind me asking.

Generally, in my area tickets run from around $9.50 to $10.00. And also, for children it is about $5.50-$6.00, and last for seniors it is around from $6.50-$7.00
I have no idea why it is so expensive, but it really is, and that really makes a lot of people not want to go. When I was in California, it was a little cheaper, but I rarely got packages, or deals. My brother used to get us some from his job during the holidays, but he no longer works there.

This would make the benefits of working at a movie theature worth it. Man 10$ like I've said before I'd just skip it and save the money to buy the movies when they came out. That would make it almost what 15$ 16$ per person almost by the time you buy snacks and all.

Hmm.. here in Philippines, prices range for a ticket would be about $2 to $3 for an adult person. It also changes if you are watching on a premiere night or if the movie is just recently shown. But after a while, prices drops to a minimun $2. But if you really wanted to watch a good film, no matter how much it costs, it's ok. =)

I don't know how much that is for your area. It may seem cheap or seem like a lot. Is that a decent amount? Can that easily be made in an hour by a kid?

Movies in my area are $0-$10.50. I try my hardest to go to earlier showing because showings before 6pm (sometimes known as Twilight showings) are much cheaper and they only cost around $7 or so. What's sad is that the second run theaters now cost as much as new films cost me back when I was in college. This has effected how often I go to the movies because I have to ask myself if the movie really looks like it's worth $10.

Man 10 bucks a movie. That's a little to much. If you and a wife, or someone go to it you could just buy the movie when it comes out instead. Man this is getting outragous.

I have the blockbuster program. I believe it's much better. You get the movies in real time. Like maybe one or two days after you put the one you're returning in the mail. Also you get not two but three movies at once. What a deal. I think it's the same price too.

I go to a French theature in the Montreal area call "Le Parisien". It's locate on the St-Catherine St. It's a big theature. It's cheaper because they only play movies in French. It's less than 5 (Canadian) bucks.

Man that 2$ theature would be nice. You could then afford to spend a bit more on concessions.
