Only way I would buy a dog/puppy online is if I would be able to meet it in person 1st and see how it interacts with me. I'm thinking my next dog might come from a rescue group. Depends on if I don't find any in the local shelters.

I've always been big at adopting from shelters. However, since I've moved to an apartment, I had to get a dog that was small. So, I bought a dog (i felt so guilty about buying a dog that I now volunteer at an animal shelter!) I purchased my puppy online and had no problems what-so-ever. He was born in Missouri, and I live in NY. The breeder was going to fly him, but ended up driving him most of the way and I met up with her because there was a heat wave. There are things you can do to safe-guard yourself when buying a puppy online. A good breeder will agree to all of these terms with no problem at all! -Have the phone number of the breeder and their e-mail address -Have the phone number, name, and address of the vet who is treating the puppies (puppies get sick all the time with worms and other such things, even if well cared for. It's just a dog thing. Plus the vet will have most likely given the dog it's first few rounds of shots) -Ask for photographs of the puppy next to objects for size reference and to know that this dog actually exists. Ask for pictures of the dog next to a soda can and next to a piece of paper with your name or a random phrase written on it. They should have no problem doing this for you. -Make sure that you can also see photographs of the parents of the puppy -If the dog is being shipped, make sure that the cost includes a carrier that is airline safe, and that all appropriate paperwork will be attached to the cage. Also, make sure they mark the cage "LIVE ANIMAL" (some people still don't understand what live means at the airports, LOL) -Be in constant contact with breeder for updates, and make sure they answer any questions you may have before bringing the dog home. There really is no problem purchasing a dog online. With that being said, before buying a dog, LOOK AT YOUR LOCAL SHELTERS! And, even look online! Sometimes shelters will ship a dog to you if you pay for the airfair. Who knows? Your next best friend could be a short flight from where you live!

Probably not, I'm not into owning purebred dogs, which is the only reason I would see buiying from a breeder in the first place. Also, I would want to meet the dog first and gauge it's personality and do a "puppy test" if it was that young before deciding to bring it into my home for the next 10-15 years. I got my dog from a rescue group and was abelt o talk to the person who had been fostering him in her home and play with him away from other dogs to get to know him.

I've never bought a dog online but I would consider buying one. Just do a research of the breeder before you decide to buy the dog.
