I was wondering what people's thought's are on Texas trying to make it mandatory for girls in 6th grade to receive the HPV vaccination. This is given the fact that it does not prevent you from contracting the HPV virus and it only prevents the virus from mutating into cancer. If you had/have a young girl would you want her to have this vaccination and why?

i think i would do it. if all the test were done, and it doesnt have any sife eccect, wont hurt her, then i would do it. anything to try and stop cancer from forming. HPV is a very serious virus. i know many people who have it, lukly its not the strain that carrys cancer. i would rather get herpies like symptoms rather then getting cancer

this is a great question! im very iffy about immunizations to begin with! i mean i understand that they can be very helpful, but in some cases it just causes ppl to get sick instead! i dont think it should be mandatory! i think the parents should be able to sit down with their kids and educate themselves and then decide to get the vaccination or not.
