To Kill A Mockingbird is about injustice and childhood innocence. "mockingbirds are neither harmful nor destructive, and only make nice music for people to enjoy" To kill a mockingbird is to kill or take away the innocence of a child or person that is innocent themselves, such as Tom Robison in the trial or Boo Radley who never retreats the Radley home.

It's a sin because mockingbirds are peaceful creatures.

Because mocking birds are innocent: they don't destroy crops or harm anyone. All they do is singing their heart out. That's why it's a sin to kill them, and it's a sin to harm someone who's innocent like a mocking bird, too.

A sin to kill a mocking bird is a metaphor for not harming the innocent charterers in the book like Tom Robinson and Arthur(Boo)Radley If you want more info just ask!
