Tamagotchi toys...remember them?

I had one when they first came out and now my daughters have the latest incarnation of them. It's neat to see them play with something I once enjoyed. It also reminds me that alot of my childhood toys are 'new' again- Holly Hobbie, Strawberry Shortcake, Carebears, and Cabbage Patch Dolls.
Do your children have any toys that you recall form your youth?

I actually just got my kids a tamagotchi each from Wal-Mart. I was pretty surprised when I saw them there, thought they were long gone. My daughter has a cabbage patch doll and it looks as though the Rubik's cube is making a small comeback again as I seem to see them in the stores all the time these days.

Rubik's cube I never managed with that, that's that colorful cube that gets all mixed up and then you have to get all the sides the same color, one side all blue blocks, one all red, one all yellow and one all green. If it is that that I'm thinking, I never managed to get it right, my brother had one, he managed a few times, that made me even more frustrated as I preferred to think it wasn't possible to do lol.

Heya,
I loved care bears and so does my daughter, although maybe a little prompting on that one :)
I also liked My Little Pony and my daughter plays with all my old ones plus a few new ones of her own.
The only show I was allowed to watch when I was very little was Play School and now my daughter watches it too.
Lego is of course an old favourite. My daughter is too little for my lego though, she has her own duplo.
I agree that it is cool to see them playing with things I once enjoyed. It certainly brings the child in me back up. Tanika.

I agree, playing with the same toys brings out the kid in me (which honestly isn't that hard to do with me).

Wow I remember those Tamagotchis, I think I had 3 when I was younger. Its funny how those toys were once so much fun, hah. I also had a skip-it, which was my favorite...I think I seen the newer version I was kind of surprised.

There's Tamagotchi, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Monopoly, Carebears. And to age myself even more, I'll throw in jackstones, Chinese jackstones, Chinese garter, hide and seek.
You're right, it's fun to go back in time. Sometimes I get a kick out of my kids saying, "How come you know this game?" Hehehe.

I love the look of surprise on my daughters faces when I tell them I used to have the same toy. They look at me like I'm older than dirt then, lol!

My baby hates being in the car seat when it is dark. She will cry and then once we turn the light on she is fine. My husband decided that we should get her a gloworm. I used to love mine. She also has carebares and my little ponies. It is so funny how things keep coming back. We also found one of the old school Johnny Jumers that hang from the door. I can't wait till she gets older and really plays with toys.

My daughters had the gloworm as well. They never really got into the My Little Pony though. All my kids have a carebear and I still have a few that I had when I was younger.

I still have my old Tamagochi =) And since there's a new version and my daughter is begging me to buy her one, I just gave her my old Tamagochi instead. Funny but she was really shocked when I told her that its older than her...

Care Bears!!! I was so excited to see Care bears come back!
Hello Kitty! I didn't have any Hello Kitty growing up because my dad couldn't afford to get me things like that. But I love Hello Kitty and my daughter has taken a liking to her also. :)
Would you believe that the Tamagotchi is up to the Version 5!!!
Wow! Those little friends are hopping along!

My children are grown and I have grandchildren now; but I should tell you that I have a Cabbage Patch dolly that sits in a wooden high chair in my kitchen eating plastic KFC food that is afixed to the tray. The food can be changed to whatever new food I find at the dollar stores. ~Donna

I had a few, but they kept dying on me I must have about 4 hidden in me attic somewhere. I liked them but once the battery was gone I could never open it as they seems to have disintegrating screws on them, pretty weak screws that would peel off when I'd try to unscrew it. I liked it a lot but I'd get sick of it easily sometimes. And other times I'd remember my dear pet thing and want to play with it.
