Instead of using pesticides in the garden, do you have a natural way of keeping insect pests under control? Tell us how you do it. Do you mix up a few ingredients in a bottle at home to spray on your plants? does it work?

the dried flowers of chrysanthemum is used as an insecticide
nicotine and nornicotine components of genus nicotiana has been used as commercial pesticide
some gardeners plants marigold to avoid insects alongwith capsicum
then there is bacteria bacillus thuningenesis known as Bt that is effective against caterpillars, tomato worms and cabbage loopers.

Spraying bug-infected plants with a mixture of a little dish soap and water works. However, you must do this every other day until cured. Don not apply in direct sunlight or you will burn the plant leaves.
