Once in a blue moon there appears an concept that no one has tapped into. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon defied all laws of gravity and even if you didn't like the script, you have to admit it was amazing. Shortly afterwards, movies like the Matrix Trilogy, or making Harry Potter come to life makes it worth going to the theater. I personally am waiting for Bridge to Terabithia to start showing because I read the book over 25 years ago. To make a book come to life..I am totally for it.
I do need to comment about producing a remake of an old film, sometimes it is best to leave well enough alone. for example, Dukes of Hazzard totally killed Bo and Luke Duke and did not do Daisy Duke Justice. But this is just my opinion.

Yes remakes is what is wrong with movies today. They totally butcher old movies and make them something not worth watching. 2006 was a year full of them.
