OVER-SENSITIVE WOMEN
It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are oversensitive, and there's nothing worse than an oversensitive woman.
My name is Bob. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife, Debbie. When I took "early retirement" last year, it became necessary for Debbie to get a full-time job along with her part time job,
both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed.
Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age. I usually get home from the golf course about the same time she gets home from work.
Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to
rest for half an hour or so before she starts dinner. I don't yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I generally have lunch in the Men's Grill at the club so eating out is not reasonable. I'm ready for some home cooked grub when I hit that door.
She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. But now it's not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner. I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times
each evening that they won't clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed.
Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think.
For example she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. But, boys, we take 'em for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement not. I tell her to stretch it out over two or even three days. That way she won't have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't hurt her any (if you know what I mean). I like to
think tact is one of my strong points.
When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half finished mowing the yard. I try not to make a scene. I'm a fair man. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me too.
I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Debbie. I'm not saying that showing this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will find it impossible! Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older. However, guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism of your aging wife because of this article, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile. After all, we are put on this earth to help each other.....
Signed, Bob
EDITOR'S NOTE: Bob died suddenly on March 7th.
The police report says that he was found with a Calloway extra long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club rammed up his backside, with only 2 inches of grip showing. His wife Debbie was arrested and charged with murder; however, the all-woman jury found her NOT GUILTY, accepting her defense that he accidentally sat down on it...

Well, I have to say, he got what he deserved...what a chauvanist...I would not have been surprised if she had just up and left him, but, I guess she figured revenge was sweeter. I know most guys believe that a woman is responsible for "home and hearth" but that is over doing it. In fact, in this day and age, most things are fifty-fifty. Thanks for the reminder that we don't have to live with that kind of behavior any longer.

Your welcome, and, we outnumber men in this world 2-1, so it really doesn't matter, lol. We will always be the bigger jury. Not to mention, the smartest.

LMAO ... very witty and ironic ... I love it
But I think some men might actualy think like that ...
I really noticed that men and women have too different ways of thinking. I think it shows that couples need more communication ... I believe in expressing your feelings instead of keeping tem buried inside like the woman in the story - or is she happy with it ? - I mean if she never complains and tell her husband what's wrong, is he supposed to read her mind ? well, he should you might say, but obiously he doesn't , so wy not a good conversation to let him know so next time it happens at least he knows how it makes us feel ...
And it works also the other way round ...
I say express your feelings, not in a mean way though, don't start yelling at your partner about all you can't stand he/she does, but instead when the situation comes around just let them now how you feel about it and chances are, if you don't yell or blame your about but just state the fact, chances are he/she will listen and might try to improve on that ....
What you go to lose ?

This is funny and I agree with you. This was written from the guys point of view, so we will not know about her feelings etc. It sure sounds like something we women would do though up to a point. Thanks much for responding.

I was married to Bob - but he had a different name then. How about spending a solid weekend at work, I do mean over night on Friday and Saturday and taking the 5 year old with you on Saturday night, so Dad could go out.
Then getting home Sunday night at 9 PM, and being told 'your' son needs clean clothes, he did his own laundry. I then go up, did laundry and went to bed at 11:20...got up at 4 to be at work by 6.
Or a few months later, we got a whooper of a snow storm, I went out and shoveled for 6 hours, thought my arms were going to fall off, then I did grocery shopping. Next morning, I get call from sitter of 5 year old, is 5 year old sick, I say NO! he should be there. An hour later get phone call from same sitter - Are YOU in trouble she says, you did not shovel driveway wide enough, his car got stuck and he could not get out of car or driveway.
Need I say more...the woman should have been made a national hero!
Yes I know it is a joke, but there are men that think I that...I could tell you many more stories

You, sir, are a jerk. Who do you think you are? You are JUST as capable to make dinner, do the dishes, and clean the house. Who do you think you are to leave that all on her, especially when SHE is the one working to support YOU! You should be the one to do the work. What the hell is wrong with you?

Not sure since she was sooo busy while Bob played. He was immature and she was doing it all. Just can't happen for very long. Better it changes before a result like or similar to that. Hoping you are not a Bob and respect your lady and she is worth your respect.
Thanks for responding.

It's a very good one!
Imagine, I have such a Bob at home in reality.
Any advice about how do I handle it?

Time to have one of the meaningful discussions with the dear one. You have to make sure he is concentrating on you and while you tell him how things are gonna change. Make it worth his while, on a couple of different levels. I wish much luck, since you will need it. Take care! Thanks for responding.

LOL I was so ready to blast you. That was funny you really had me going on this one. Heck I even felt my heart beating faster the more I read. The sad thing is there are men out there just like this. I hope one of their wives reads this and uses the same method to resolve the issue.

First off, welcome to Mylot. Second, I in no way am encouraging such behavior, we are much better living free. Though we can certainly not blame her for her final reaction. Thanks for responding!!

Thanks for a good laugh. Really very creative.
I'm sure or at least I hope this was a satire. However, I do personally know a few men that seem to have this very set of mind. lol
