My 12 year old grandchild thinks she knows more than I do. Does anyone else have this problem? My grandchild is a girl. I think they think they know more than we do once they turn 10

I was a know-it-all...until I turned 18 and moved out. I then realized I knew half of what I thought I did!

I love this response! Thank you for it. It is so true of all of us...It is easy to know it all when someone else is paying the bills! Hmmmmmm...

Kids now a days think they do know everything. What doesn't help is all the stuff they see on tv and movies. A lot of them think they are little adults. LOL

Thanks for responding howard96h. Our world certainly does seem to grow children up faster than I did. Also family lifestyle. A lot of children are left to their own devices too early in life, just my opinion...

Every child thinks that way. I know I did. And maybe she DOES know or understand something(s) better than you do. Don't underestimate her just because she is a child, though, she probably is just going through a phase.

That is universal truth, I feel they do know more than me because when I am stuck with some function on mobile or computer it is my nephew who is this age corrects it for me, their exposure is so vast.

I know lots of little ones who know more than me when it comes to cell phones and all. This is their era, they are raised around these things and they are smarter than we were in some respects I think. Thanks for responding...take care...

My 3 year old girl thinks that she knows it all and will stand and argue with me until I finally throw my arms in the air, LOL. I think for mine hers is that she is always asking a question and I'm forever giving answers. She then turns those answers back around. I just can't win. I truly love the fact that she is so bright but hate the fact that she thinks that she know all. She is forever saying I'm 14, or I'm 21 she really doesn't think that she is 3 and that is the problem. I have no idea why some do this and other kids don't. I wish that I did so that I could fix it some how. :)

Wow! Sounds like your little girl is very smart. I think that when they are so smart, it is frustrating because they understand more than most their age but not as much as the older folks. Is she around a lot more adults than children her age? Be happy that she is always questioning things, she is very observant and curious. She sounds like a real learner...take care of her well! Thanks for responding...
