For the moms on here, do you work outside the home, work from home or are you a SAHM?
For 8 yrs I was a SAHM and I went back to work part-time at the school back in November and I worked for about 2 months with the Pre-K and I had to quit last week due to it hurting my lower back. I have back problems anyway and the constant bending over and lifting, made my back worse. I had my Chiropractor telling me that I shouldn't bend over or lift and it was impossible with the job, so I quit. So now I am back to being a SAHM even though both of my kids are in school all day. DD is in Kindergarten and Son is in 3rd grade. I enjoy having MY TIME while they are in school though.
I get so much done. I kinda missed being a SAHM and having my time. My hubby's checks pay the bills, mine didn't, so it isn't worth the back pain for extra spending money, for me to work LOL.

I have been a stay at home mom for the last seven years and thouroughly enjoyed it, however I did bring in some children which I took care of as I liked to have my own money. My husband and I have recently separated so it is time for me to go back to work. However I am attempting to find a part time job as I'm really dreading the thought of not being able to see my children. They are all in school now so I wouldn't mind working when they are not home, but I think as stay at home moms, we get use to being here for them all the time. It's going to be quite an adjustment for me to re-enter the workforce although I'm sure the children are looking forward to some time without mom, lol

I totally agree, I like being there for class parties and when I started working, I missed the Christmas party and felt lost. I like being here at home when they get home from school, to hear about their day.
Sorry to hear that you and your husband have separated. Good luck finding a job.
I have babysat too, when mine were little. I just like being to do what I want and when I want. I forgot to mention that I am going to go back to Subbing at the school, I did that last year and loved it, I can work when I want and can say NO if I don't want to work hehe.
