I dont think that drivers should get tickets for talking and driving at the same time. If they get into a car accident then they shoud be charged but their are many good drivers who can and need the cellphone in their hands.

i believe that drivers should be ticketed for holding a cellphone in their hands while driving. i feel that even tho a person may be a good driver, the conversation could distract them from driving just long enuff to cause an accident (most likely from taking the time to drop the phone and reach for the steering wheel with the other hand). there are plenty of car kits available for cell phones. i personally use an earbud with a mic on it so that all i have to do if the phone rings is push a button on the mic to answer the call. this way while i'm talking on the phone, i can still have both hands on the wheel.
just my 2 cents worth, hope it doesn't offend =)

Im glad you commented but the government here in NJ is thinking about getting rid if the earbud thing too because supposedly it still distracts the driver.

Well I have a problem with people being on the cell and driving. Traffic is held up because they can't use both to turn the wheel or we have to beep the horn when the lights turn green for them to go. The have the hands free things that plugged into the phones now so people can have the cell phone out of their hands. I mean if people can pay attention and have a cell in their hand then more power to them. I haven't seen any that can. When I use mine I am in the passenger seat or I pull over. I can't drive well while on the cell. When you are on a cell phone you are not giving a 100% to what is going on around you. If people have to have a cell get the hands free headset or set it to the side on speaker.

i thinkit should be against the law and get a ticket adn if casue accident casue u are on a cell then you are at fault.
Alot of big companies are starting to forbid there employees from driving adn talking on a cell phone.
