I don't know, they left it open but a lot of movies do that "just in case" I would personally love to see another Underworld movie come out.

I highly doubt that there will be a third movie. The producers don't strike me as the foolish type to keep extending it when there really isn't much story to tell.
The main "villians" have been offed and it would be hard for them to create a working premise for a new movie. Not even the threat of the coven's reactions to Selena and Michael would make much of a show, considering Selena can now tolerate sunlight and both her and Michael have pretty much established themselves as top dogs. To top it off I don't think there is much of a coven to go after them anyway. The movie implied that Marcus, after offing Kraven and his cronies, destroyed the coven as well.
I really don't see how they could make a third movie.

There will be an underworld three. However, it is a prequel which focuses on the rising war of the lycans. check out my other discussions for more info.

I certainly would like there to be another moive, just because I really did enjoy these movies a lot but at the same time I wouldn't want to see it cheapened either by dozens of sequeals that play off the original's popularity. So in all honesty I have to say leaving it where it is, is the best option. :) Plus the slightly open ending lets the watchers come up with their own ideas as to where Michael and Selena headed off to after the movie.

yea considering how the 2nd one ended. it's a high chance there'll be a 3rd. i would love that. i loved the first 2 Underworlds and i hope to see more. at least 1 more.

The ending to the last movie left a very good opening for another movie. I really hope there is one because I loved the first two. Unfortunately someone stole both movies, so I need to buy them again when I have the money.
