Stupid or Ignorant??

I have spent a lot of time here today (it's my day off), and I have seen a lot of criticism about people being "stupid" because of the way they write, type, think, respond, or just about anything they do on this site. I thought this was supposed to be a forum--a place to discuss topics of interest, not how the person uses bad grammar or can't type worth a d***. Don't you think that with more posting and responding that we might all fine tune our writing skills and get our minds thinking a little deeper than we were before we came to MyLot? (But that's just an added perk, not the real reason to be here). The real reason, besides making a few bucks, is to have a forum to inter-react with other people on subjects in which they have a common interest. Maybe what is "stupid" to one person may be very interesting to another. Possibly the reason for having different interests? Being ignorant simply means not having the knowledge of something--I am totally ignorant when it comes to nuclear physics or any number of things I have never learned or had experience with, as is everyone else. That's why we continue to learn all our lives. Don't you think we should give the poor spellers and the grammar-challenged people a break, and read their posts for the content and insight, and not be so critical of their form???
