Is everyone required to give their Social Security number to government agencies? When one is dealing or having some transaction with the government, is it a requirement to give ones social security number. Tell us here what you think.

since everythingthe government does foryou is filed only under yourssn, orsin in canada, that's the numberthey want, however, if its just something minor, ask why they want it, and see what their response is. I think you will find that you are told simply because we want it.
