Amitabh Bacchan Playing "Gabbar" In New Sholay.. will that work..?

i am agree that no one can make original sholay nor no one can play Gabbar's role which was performed by late Amzad khan. it was outstanding performance of amzad khan for which he will be remembered for ever. but as far as Ram Gopal Verma's Sholay is concerned, it is presumed that it will definately hit the screen because amitji is in a different look, story is different and both Ramu and Amitji are good performer in their profession. we have the right to make remake of movie, song, epic whatever but there must be some thing new thoughts, new message etc.

nope! legend cant exchange their places. when sholay was released, i wasn't even born then.(im 19 now). from my childhood, whenever i heard the name "gabbar", the only pic that came to my mind was Amjad khan's pic. its impossible for me now to imagine anybody else...even if its amitabh bacchan....in place of amjad khan. no matter amitabh is a legend, but as i said earlier, legends shouldn't exchange their seats.

This is one I've been thinking about for a while since I heard AB was going to be playing Gabbar in the remake. He's a pretty versatile actor (I think) but I don't know how it would come across as to me Amjad Khan was THE Gabbar Singh! Can't imagine anyone being as convincing as he was in the original as the baddie! I am going to sit on the fence on this one as I don't want to knock it till I've seen it. I haven't yet seen the remake of Don but AB was brilliant in the original. Not sure how I'm going to feel seeing him as Gabbar Singh! But it will be interesting if nothing else LOL!
