Amen is from hebrew Amin. The word Amin also known by Arabian as the same meaning, which is "agree".
To say amen means you agree with the prayer. Or in the catholic we say amen after say "In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit". The word amen means that you agree with that faith, the trinity.
So if you pray alone, yes you may not say amen.

I'm not Catholic, but I hear a lot of people in my church say, "In the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit." Also, when my dad (pastor) baptizes someone he always says that before putting the person under water. It covers all the bases, doesn't it? I like it when I hear someone say that.

Amen is said by chistians. now the ending of a prayer is different in different religions. what is more important is how your concentration and faith while prayer. no matter how you end it either by saying Amen, allah-humdulillah, vahe-guru etc etc.

When you think of God, that is already prayer. Every breath we take, every thought we make - if it is for God, then prayer is already made. Prayer is communication with God. Feeling His loving presence.

yeah why not? When you have decided to pray then your own words are your mantra's. So you need not stick to a particular version ie the same way. You love God and you remember him and you pray.Actyally when you think of HIM itself is a prayer because he is within and he knows you.So dont bother!

Not everyone says Amen at the end of prayers as they might be from different religions. Just because you don't say it, doesn't mean your prayer doesn't count. Just because you pray in your head during the day and not last thing at night kneeling by your bed doesn't mean it doesn't count either, you can pray at any time of day in any situation and it still counts as a prayer.
All people pray in different ways. God is universal - He listens to everyone's prayers. Sometimes when you see the bad things happening in the world you might not believe that God exists and wonder how He allows bad things to happen but He cannot control everything and they say these things are sent to test us. As long as you are happy with the way you pray, don't worry about what other people think :)

Oh sure, prayers without the word 'amen' are still prayers. I believe God looks at the intent and when you pray, He knows what you mean, and your intent. So I believe He doesn't mind if the 'amen' doesn't come. Although, I have to admit, if I don't say 'amen' after a prayer, I feel a little weird.

For me, prayers are prayers. In any form, prayers would still be prayers, there are many kinds of praying, some would sing, other will dance, some will just talk and chat to God. So with regards to your question if prayers without "Amen" is still consider as prayers. My reply is definitely Yes. As long as you are praying from the deepest of your heart and you are sincere then God would still hear your prayers even if God did not hear the word Amen.
