cold turkey

When someone says they wuit something cold turkey - does that mean they ate alot of cold turkey? Where did that originate?

Some think it's from a comparison of a cold turkey carcass and the way a withdrawing addict is (the cold sweats/goose bumps). might be said "going cold turkey.

cold turkey means when you quite sumthing and never do it again, for example if you were to quit smoking, you can say 'i'm quitin cold turkey' and it means that you'll never pick up another smoke again, rather then slowly quittin sumthing you quit it then on the spot!
