i really want to edit my post!!! but i cant...

If people would take the time to read the Mylot rules, it specifically says that you must not: 'Post discussions, responses or comments criticising members for bad / broken English or bad spelling.' Therefore, the people commenting on your spelling are not only being rude, they are also going against Mylot rules. THEY are the ones who's behaviour should be commented on lol! I mean really, are they so small-minded that that is all they can find to say about someones post?! I can understand someone commenting if they were specifically asked to, but not uninvited! Thats just plain rude! And irrelevant! Really, Vehaileairu, I wouldn't worry about people who do that - I would rather just feel sorry for them lol!

Now atleast mylot has introduced, the "preview your response" option. Sign of releif for people who regret for worng grammar and irrelevant words.

I'm totally agreed with you! MyLot should have to enable the features of edit / delete discussions and comments as we are human not a machine so we can do mistakes. MyLot have to realize this thing. I've complained the same thing to myLot staff and they replied, please tell us the discussion or comment you have to edit / delete we'll do it at our own! This is all myLot staff mailed me but I am still not getting that why can't they enable the feature of edit / delete discussions and comments. God! I'm sick of mistakes now.

I have the same problem too. I wish there was a way to edit. Most sites I've been to offer the edit option. Maybe they will here too soon.

I used to have the same problem all the time, i would make a post and the minute i posted it i would realize how many typos and spelling errors i had made. I installed the latest version of firefox though and it comes with a built in spell checker so you can check it as you go along, you might want to look into getting that as its very helpful

lol..i've felt da same way a lot of times..i've xperiences too..i men makin errors.A coupe of times i discovered that there were errors and i tried stopping the discussion and reposting..but the result, i had the same discussion posted twice...and hence, i stopped doing it..well..its understood if u make a few errors..but i dont understand y ppl try to point out the silly errors wen they can anyway understand..it happend wen u chat too..but 4 me, nobody has ever tried to point out the errors..only from u, i came to know dat there r such unconsiderate people..well..they maybe tryin to b polite, but perhaps they must understand that such errors are no fault of ours..just a feature dats missin in mylot..and yes, talkin abt that..like u said..it would be gr8 if mylot could update that feature..of editing our errors..it does have it..but once u post it completely, u cant change it,,it doesnt have that feature..and until then..just dont bother abt ppl's complaints..i mean..there's nothin to feel humiliated in that...ppl who remark on those errors are those who still arent familiar with the postings probably..even otherwise..just mind ur own business and keep up da good work..lets not worry abt others!!:) lol..god knows how many errors i made in this:P

I think everyone screws up with their spelling @ least now and then...And i too will be the first to comment on one of my responses or posts where i find a pretty obvious and embarrassing blunder..But if someone 'attacks' you for what is an obvious 'mistake', i would respond to their comment with what you meant to say and that unfortunately everyone in this world can't be as etched-in-stone-perfect as them..It's just ignorance if someone is going to get so bent outta shape over something we all do.. If they are really cruel and have crossed 'the line', i would also take the initiative to give a negative rating and even report them. I've found that if i take a few minutes to read what i wrote before submitting, it helps to find those errors -yet it isn't very practical if you are trying to 'post against the clock'! :)

i think we all hope for that. i hope soon mylot will have that feature. personally i also made a lot of wrong spelling,grammar and other typo's but whenever i found out i have done mistake even if i like to correct it i cant do anything, well i let it be and expect that others will recognize it. Its really up to them if they judge me but i know im not perfect. if they corrected me i gladly accept it but of course it should be said nicely and not in a rude way.

First off-- Do not fret because you made a mistake or a typo.. It happens to the best of us... I know I could go back and look at my previous postings and find several. Previewing what you write doesn't always work either-.. I wish the preview would show misspelled words in a different color or with underlines- I also wish the mylot had a spell check. So anyways-- Do not worry and if people correct you- blow it off... We all make mistakes... And really who has the time to preview each post. My mind is thinking about the numerous other great discussions I saw and want to respond to. Keep your chin up!

The majority of people on here tend to make spelling errors and grammar errors in some of their posts. Don't worry about it! It's very common and you are certainly not alone in this field. That being said, now I have to review my own to make sure I'm not making any, lol. My advice to you is don't worry about it, if all someone has to complain about is your spelling and grammatical errors, I wish I had their life!

Dont worry every one does this. I usually try to make the best sense i can out of a misspelled word and never think twice. If you are being insulted on this then its a shame for everyone makes a mistake and none of us are perfect.

I'm the queen of typos. Usually I start writing and my fingers take a life of their own:) Although I believe that proper spelling is important, I don't see why people make such a big deal of this in forums, it seems to me that they have nothing else to say, hence resorting to criticize the spelling. I feel that what's important is the message, the content, not the way it is written. Basically we all make mistakes when typing, some more some less. Having said that, I would also like to have the option to edit my posts because often I only realize I misspelled something after it's posted.

I use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and the latest version actually has a built in spell checker that underlines wrongly spelled words in red. Maybe you could look into using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer if thats what you use. Also previewing your posts before you actually post them is a good idea if you don't want to use Firefox. it may seem like a waste of time but if you just take the time to flick through what you wrote and correct any obvious errors then there's no reason to cmplain. Don't be too hard on yourself though as far as typing errors are concerned. We all make mistakes from time to time, and it's sad that there's just a few people out there who are petty enough to comment on them. hell, my typing is pretty bad at the best of times lol. When I'm tired, my posts are full of mistakes that I don't see till it's too late. Hang in there and it will get easier.

I admit to being a purist as regards the English language, but the only times I correct someone on their spelling is when I feel they're succumbing to the Americanisation of our language; it's becoming all too common, especially in the media who one would think would be well trained in the language. I admit to making mistakes in topics/responses, but mostly they're typographical errors, when my brain is light years ahead of my fingers.

i did errors, too. i even posted one silly discussion 6 months ago. way back then, the way of inviting referrals are not the same as it is today. there are four empty boxes on the right hand corner of the layout. fist is topic of the discussion you want to start, then second box is for the body of the discussion. third box is the email address of the people you want to invite to mylot. 4th box is for the extra message you wanna tell them. so, instead of putting the email addresses on the third box, i put it on the first box. and i typed the messages for this peole on the second box. and there, i hit the submit button! the result? a funny discussion with emails as the top title and a little message to those people on the body. gosh, i was so humiliated that time and since we cannot edit or delete it, i wasn't able to do something about it. it was an honest mistake. so, i just laugh about it. so, don't worry much about these people who try to correct you all the time. noone's perfect. and if you read the guidelines of mylot, they welcome people around the world even those who have difficulty in expressing themselves in the english language. so, people, let's be considerate so as not to offend others (and me, too).

I also wish that mylot will soon have this feature soon. I hope they are looking for ways how to do it since I too am prone to your kind of mistakes. But then I just continue on with it since its there already and there's nothing you can do about it.

i also want to do some editing whenever i view my post, but like you i can't find any option for this. i hope you request could be heard by any of mylot staff so that they can consider having an edit option on our posts.

it happend to me manytimes but now to be on the safer side i do chek preview then post it still i do goof up at place,well to "irr is human" rite!

Good point.(",) Mylot should have a new system in which we can edit our posts and erase the discussions we've made which has no response for quite some time now. I'm really wondering about that. Don't be angry at your mistake, its ok. Its just normal that we make mistakes sometimes. The important thing is that you acknowledge that mistake and you know for yourself that you tried to correct it. Don't feel too bad, ok? why is it when I make a new discussion, it doesnt show up in the home or discussions tab, I choose the general discussion. help please. and can I edit them?
